Pakistan has banned truck drivers from Afghanistan from entering their country without passports and visas.

Regarding this, Noor Mohammad Haneef, Director of the Department of Communication and Culture of the Afghan Taliban, said:

Officials of the country have said that the drivers who drive trucks to Pakistan through Torkham border in Nangarhar province can only be allowed to enter Pakistan if they show their passport and entry permit.

After that, we have started asking the drivers of trucks coming from Pakistan for those documents, he said.

Pakistan believes that the Pakistani Taliban who carry out terrorist attacks in their country are taking refuge in Afghanistan. As a result, Pakistan is deporting millions of Afghans who are staying without proper documents.

Amidst the ongoing conflict between the two countries over this issue, the Torkham border, an important trade route, has been closed, and the lorry waiting on both sides of the border loaded with perishable goods is said to have caused confusion among the drivers.
