Rawalpindi: India look set to reach the finals of the World Test Championship for the second time in a row. India’s chances have been boosted by Pakistan’s defeat in the first match of the Test series against England. India are currently fourth and Pakistan fifth in the World Test Championship points table. Australia is in first place.
Apart from the current three-match series against England, Pakistan have a two-Test series against New Zealand in the coming months. India, on the other hand, have two Tests against Bangladesh and four Tests against Australia in February next year. On the other hand, Australia, which is ranked first, has one Test against West Indies and three Tests against South Africa to play in the ongoing series.

Australia can reach the final if they sweep the series against West Indies and win at least two Tests against South Africa. India, on the other hand, can qualify for the final if they sweep the series against Bangladesh and win the series against Australia 3-1. As England’s chances of making the final have already ended, Pakistan’s performance against England in the upcoming matches will be crucial for India.
