As a result, Palaniswami’s declared candidate for South has got a double leaf symbol. AMU General Secretary Dhinakaran accepted what the BJP said and withdrew its candidate. Palaniswami is very angry knowing that the reason for all this is the BJP.

According to ADMK people, Palaniswami has strictly told the election officials that ‘whatever importance we give to coalition party leader John Pandian, it is enough to give it to Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai’.
In this regard, an ADMK executive said: Jayalalithaa did not want to ally with the BJP after the defeat of the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, despite having a good friendship with Prime Minister Modi. Being in power, it was forced to form an alliance with the party. In Erode East constituency, the minority votes are significant. That is why, Palaniswami has said that BJP should be taken seriously.

In the party, Annamalai considers Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, who have the support of 98 per cent executives, together. He says one thing in a private meeting and another in public. Due to this, Palaniswami is very dissatisfied with BJP. As a result, apart from Prime Minister Modi, he has come to the decision not to talk to anyone else, he said. Thus, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai will campaign for a couple of days and then leave for the Karnataka assembly election work, BJP insiders say.
