Mr. Choubki, who was speaking during a meeting organized on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, also welcomed the content of the “strong message” addressed by HM King Mohammed VI to the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Sheikh Niang, noting that the Sovereign reiterated in this Message the Kingdom’s constant support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
The Palestinian diplomat further recalled the Speech delivered by HM King Mohammed VI at the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, in which the Sovereign stressed that there is no alternative to real peace in the region guaranteeing the Palestinians their legitimate rights within the framework of the Two-State Solution.
Mr. Choubki also noted that Morocco hosted the 1974 Arab Summit, during which Arab countries recognized for the first time the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinians.
He also praised the role played by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in protecting Arab and Islamic rights in the Holy City and strengthening the resilience of its residents through funding programs and projects in various sectors.
For their part, other speakers representing different civil and political bodies indicated that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People constitutes an opportunity to remind the entire world of the need to find a solution to the Palestinian cause that guarantees stability and peace in the region.
They also stressed the right of the Palestinian people to an independent state with East Al Quds as its capital, while welcoming the constant positions of Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, with a view to resolving the Palestinian issue.
This meeting was held in the presence of several ambassadors from Arab and Islamic countries accredited to Rabat and many personalities from the political and associative world.
