Following Foreign Minister Yair Lapid’s visit to the Nablus Gate, the Palestinian Authority strongly condemned it. An official statement from the authority stated that this was a “provocative invasion” and also condemned the promises that additional forces would be stationed in the area. According to the PA, this is incitement against the Palestinians that accuses them in advance of escalation. “This is an apartheid regime in full swing,” they wrote, “acting as if there are only Jewish holidays and protection should be provided only to Jews during them, while completely ignoring the existence of Muslim and Christian holidays.”
