They continue their recovery. Yilmaz, the cousin of the father of the family seriously injured in the collision with the vehicle driven by comedian Pierre Palmade, on February 10, wanted to give news of Yuksel, 40, and his son Devrim, 6.

The latter was attached to his car seat in the back of his father’s vehicle during the violent accident. He was hospitalized until February 27 at Necker, a Parisian pediatric establishment. Thursday evening, Yilmaz was invited on the set of the program “Touche pas à mon poste”, presented by Cyril Hanouna on C8. He explained that the young Devrim, who would not remember the accident, returned to school “for a week”.

“He has actually resumed school in the morning since Monday March 13”, confirms to the Parisian an official source who does not wish to appear. The student thus found his CP class in his elementary school in the Plaine du Lys district where he had not returned since Friday, February 10, a few hours before the terrible accident. In Dammarie-les-Lys, Devrim lives with his mother and two brothers, the eldest aged 9 and an 8 month old baby.

“It feels good to go back to school and see his friends”

Contacted by Le Parisien, Yilmaz explains that the youngest of Yuksel wears a corset, which wraps him from the kidneys to half of the skull, behind, and allows him to keep himself straight and upright because he now walks without help. “I saw him again on Thursday morning passing with his mother and the baby in the stroller. He stands up well and walks alone, but he was not carrying a schoolbag, ”says a neighbor who lives in the same tower as the family.

“At home, he is closed in on himself, but at school he feels better. He is comfortable with his friends. He prefers going to school to staying at home, ”continues this close family member. “He went back to school but only in the morning because he gets tired very quickly. Devrim wants to move, like all children his age”.

On the other hand, his broken jaw still bothers him. He must speak very short sentences. “He talks, but not too much because it tires him a lot. He goes home at noon because he can’t chew. He can only drink water and eat light, ”adds this close friend of Devrim’s father.

Contacted this Friday afternoon, Omer, a nephew of Yuksel who lives nearby, continues: “Devrim does rehabilitation. He goes to a physio with his mother and he also exercises at home. He complains that the corset goes up to half his head, but he has no choice, he has to wear it. It feels good to go back to school and see his friends and not just his mother, his brothers, his uncle and his cousin…”

The father still hospitalized

As for the father of the family, Yuksel, who is still hospitalized, he “would feel better” and could “talk but not walk”, still according to his close cousin Yilmaz. But he would take “fifteen drugs” a day to fight against the pain, after having undergone “seven operations”. He would not remember “the accident” of February 10, when he had just celebrated his 40th birthday. Omer adds this Friday: “Yuksel does not feel half of his left arm. And if he speaks, he speaks very little because it tires him too much”. No date of discharge from the hospital has yet been advanced by the medical team.

The investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal confirmed on Tuesday the release under judicial supervision of Pierre Palmade after the serious road accident he caused on February 10 under the influence of cocaine, announced the general prosecutor’s office. The 54-year-old comedian “is prohibited from leaving the hospital where he is,” said the public prosecutor’s office in a press release. He had been indicted for “homicide and involuntary injuries”. A court decision which “disappoints” the family of the victims, as the guest members of the show were able to repeat this Thursday evening.

In its deliberations, the investigating chamber considered, according to the prosecution, that “Pierre Palmade’s state of health was not incompatible with continued detention” but “the evolution of this state of health reduced the risks which had based the decision of placement in pre-trial detention”.

The artist had been placed in pre-trial detention on February 27, but never physically entered prison, having been locked on the hospital bed on which he was being treated. He suffered a stroke on February 25, according to the comedian’s entourage.
