Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca expressed his feeling of pride and privilege to work with cole Palmer, after the 22-year-old helped Chelsea to occupy second place in the English Premier League club standings.
The English striker was a star for the young team that became Liverpool’s closest competitor, top of the table, as the season approached its middle.
By scoring 11 goals in 15 matches, Palmer became the team’s top scorer and also assisted 6 goals.
“I feel very proud to work with Palmer,to be honest,I feel lucky to work with all of them,” Maresca said.
He added, “Palmer is different from the rest, but here (at Chelsea) we have many good players. In this case, the coach feels happy and proud to work with them.”
When asked if he thought Palmer was the best player in England currently, Maresca said: “At this moment, he could be, but England is lucky because there are many distinguished players, including Palmer. There are many distinguished players in the Premier League.”
He stressed, “He can certainly become a world-class player, but as I said, he is still 22 years old, and there are many things he can improve.”
