During the voting in the elections to the State Duma, the website of the CEC faced cyber attacks of unprecedented scale, said the chairman of the commission, Ella Pamfilova.

“We have now, indeed, such attacks are powerful on the site. This is just a disaster. We have never had such a thing, ”TASS quotes her.

According to her, 50% of all attacks are carried out from the United States, 25% from Germany, another 10% from Russia, and 5% from China. The Central Election Commission found “several very vulnerable points,” Pamfilova added, noting that all the pros and cons of this information system of the commission will be worked out.

On Friday, September 17, a three-day voting began in Russia in the elections of deputies of the VIII convocation of the State Duma. The elections are held on a single voting day, which fell on September 19 this year. On the recommendation of Rospotrebnadzor, the Central Election Commission extended the voting by three days – September 17, 18 and 19. This should, according to the authorities, help reduce the risks of infection with COVID-19.
