From the Mexico City Congress, National Action will always defend the right of citizens to private property and guarantee the legal certainty against any attempt to affect it under the pretext of “public utility”.
Andres Ataydecoordinator of the bench of PANrecalled that since the commission of Constitutional Points of the II Legislatureprevented the City Government’s proposal, which sought to prioritize the concept of social property over private property, from being exaggerated.
“Fortunately, that proposal did not prosper and National Action He was able to stop it and establish a lock that guarantees private property in accordance with the Article 27 Constitutional. Let it be clear: private property will not disappear in Mexico City,” he explained.
The PAN member explained that given the uncertainty generated by the reform announced a few days ago by the capital government, Marti Batres came out to clarify what had been approved.
“An explanation not asked for is manifest guilt. We want to make it very clear that National Action will not allow anyone to try to deceive the people of Mexico City,” he stressed.
Diego Garrido, vice-coordinator of the PAN, who ruled on the initiative as president of the commission of Constitutional Points In the previous legislature, he stated that the proposal sent by the head of Government had a clear statist approach and intended to give greater relevance to social ownership in the Constitution of Mexico City.
“However, and despite being a minority, the PAN managed to modify the proposed text to maintain the guiding principles of the Article 27 of the Political Constitutionthus guaranteeing legal security for citizens with regard to property. This cannot be taken away without a corresponding expropriation and compensation process,” he clarified.
“Morena has tried to violate private property on several occasions, such as when it proposed that those who did not pay the rent for a property should not be evicted,” he added.
