jpnn.com – Teh National Mandate Party (PAN) appreciates‍ President Prabowo⁤ subianto’s statement proposing that regional head elections‍ or Pilkada return ‌to the DPRD.

PAN DPP Chairman ‌Saleh Partaonan Daulay said similar ‍thoughts ⁣had actually been discussed within‌ PAN for a long time. however, the political party led by Zulkifli Hasan needs to carry out more detailed⁣ calculations before conveying it ⁤to the public.

“”In this case,it was the President who started this discourse. It seems that it woudl be easier to offer it to‍ all existing political parties. “And now it is indeed definitely ⁣welcomed and discussed internally in each political party,” said Saleh,‌ Friday (13/12/2024).

He said that PAN generally supports⁢ simpler ‌and simpler regional head elections⁣ or Pilkada. Moreover, Indonesia has ⁤already implemented it.

According to him, the results are not much different from the current regional heads. Many ⁢of those elected⁣ through the DPRD also had achievements, even legendary ones, and are still remembered today.

“Regarding the performance of regional heads,it is not measured by the‌ election mechanism, but rather by the results of their work and service to the community,”⁢ said Saleh, who is also chairman of Commission VII DPR‍ RI.

According to him, even if regional heads are elected directly by the community, if they cannot ⁣work⁣ there is no point.

“Today, we find many types ‍of regional heads like this,” he continued.

saleh Partaonan Daulay said‍ that PAN appreciates ⁤President Prabowo Subianto’s‌ proposal regarding regional heads being elected by the DPRD.
