Initialed by the president of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara and the president of Parlatino, Rolando González Patricio, the agreement aims to expand the roles of the King Mohammed VI Library to serve as a communication platform between the national parliaments of the member countries of the Parlatino, the Moroccan Parliament and their African and Arab counterparts.

It is also about making the Library a space dedicated to the promotion of Moroccan civilization and culture, as well as to the consecration of the common heritage based on the values shared between the Kingdom and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

This new agreement, which is based on the clauses of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties on April 25, 2018, also intends to strengthen channels of communication and cooperation on issues of common interest.

It is also a question of consolidating coordination in international forums in line with the founding values and principles of relations between the two institutions, based on consultation and respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity of member and observer countries in Parlatino.

During the signing ceremony of this agreement which was held in the presence of the Moroccan ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchiche and the president of the Andean parliament, Cristina Reyes Hidalgo, the president of the House of Advisors recalled that His Majesty King Mohammed VI was kind enough to give His august name to this space, underlining the particular attention that the Sovereign pays to cooperative relations with the countries of Latin and South America in general.

To this end, Enaam Mayara, who is making a working visit to Panama at the invitation of the president of Parlatino, expressed the commitment of the House of Advisors to make the King Mohammed VI Library a symbol of Moroccan culture and a knowledge space made available to parliamentarians, academic institutions and civil society associations.

For his part, the President of Parlatino expressed his gratitude for the support of the House of Advisors for the creation of the multimedia center at the headquarters of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean, which proudly bears the name of His Majesty King Mohammed VI .

This space is the crowning achievement of the achievements made by the two parties within the framework of bilateral and multilateral relations, adding that these efforts resulted in the launch of the Parliamentary Forum of African and Latin American Countries (AFROLAC) whose secretariat is shared between Parlatino and the Chamber of Advisors.

Mr. Mayara is accompanied during this visit by a delegation which includes MM. Abderrahmane Ouafa, Abdelkader Salama, and Ahmed Lakhrif, representatives of the Chamber of Advisors respectively to the Latin American Parliament, the Andean Parliament, and the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN).
