Panasonic has unveiled the new Toughbook S1 tablet. The gadget is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP67 standard and certified according to the military MIL-STD 810H standard for operation in extreme conditions.

The main features of the Toughbook S1 are the case and battery. Replaceable batteries support “hot swappable” – the built-in power source allows you to remove the discharged main battery right during operation to replace it with a charged one.

The Wi-Fi version of the tablet will receive a 3200 mAh battery, while the 4G device will be equipped with a 5580 mAh battery. Additional batteries will be offered as an option.

The 7-inch screen with WXGA resolution (1280×800 pixels) supports touchscreen control with gloves and has a special mode for working in the rain. When activated, it maintains a high level of responsiveness, but the display does not respond to drops.

The tablet is built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 platform. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Moreover, the latter can be expanded by another 64 GB due to the slot for memory cards microSDXC.

The Panasonic Toughbook S1 will hit the market with the Android 10 operating system. The company promises updates up to Android 12, which should be released in the fall of 2021. The cost of a protected tablet will be from $ 2.5 thousand.

In addition to tablets, the Panasonic Toughbook electronics line includes rugged laptops and smartphones.
