Panathinaikos 1-1: The clover that stuck in Bania Luka is not worth it now

Panathinaikos did not manage to overcome the barrier of Boracs, leaving Bania Luka with the score of the match (1-1). Bakasetas scored for the Greens, Despotovic equalized for the Bosnians.

Panathinaikos failed to start on the right foot in the Conference League Stage, as they drew (1-1) with Borats in Banja Luka. The Greens did not reach high performance standards, but they had opportunities to take the three points. Thus, the small town remains unbeaten in the main stage of a European competition since 2009, when it beat Sturm.

The shamrocks opened the scoring in the 11th minute in their first phase of the game. Mladenovic crossed from the left and Bakasetas put the ball into the net with a nice finish from inside the area.

Borats also equalized in his first step in the second half. After a foul from Herrera, Despotovic headed the ball into the net.

Sporar started instead of Ioannidis, Djuricic stayed on the flanks but in the middle of the field Bakaseta and Pellistri were on his side. Cerin replaced Arao in midfield, and Senkefeld also started in place of Jedvai who is on the bench.

Panathinaikos managed to score in the first phase of the game. Djuricic and Mladenovic combined beautifully, the latter crossed to Bakaseta who put the ball into the net with a fine finish.

Two minutes later the city missed a scoring chance with Sporar going one-on-one with Siskowski, but keeper Borat stopped it. Borats tried to threaten with some finals mostly from long range but they didn’t care about Dragovski.

The most important were Savic’s effort in the 19th minute which was neutralized by Siskovsky, but also Skorup’s long shot which went just wide.

Panathinaikos missed its best moment in the final with two shots from Maksimovic and Pellistri, but Borat’s defenders blocked the Serbian’s efforts and Siskovsky stopped the Uruguayan.

Borats is hurt by the same premise

Borats, in his first good minute, leveled the game. After a foul from Herrera, Despotovic put the ball into the net with a nice header.

Three minutes later, the home team had a chance for a second goal with Herrera’s nice shot from inside the area, but Dragovski, with a nice intervention, managed to clear it for a corner.

After 55′ Panathinaikos got the ball at their feet and Borats went back to keep the 1-1. In the 62nd, the home players combined perfectly to lay Djuricic on Sporar, but the Slovenian’s shot went just wide.

In the 72nd minute, the Greens scored the second goal with Tete. The Brazilian controlled and shot outside the area, with the ball stopping on the post. In the 90+1′, the city missed the chance with an Ioannidis header after a charge from Onahi, which went just wide. That was the last good moment in the game.
