jpnn.com – The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) responded to news reports regarding alleged business practices in the management of .id domain names.

Through a written statement to JPNN.com, PANDI explained that it had carried out work to manage domain registration in accordance with laws including the ITE Law, PP 71/2019 and Permenkominfo 23/2013.

“Until now, PANDI in carrying out its governance refers to this policy, including the payment of PNBP (non-tax state revenue) of 5 percent of gross income before deducting operational costs, as regulated in Permenkominfo 10/2017,” as written in a statement received by JPNN.con, Tuesday (13/8).

PANDI explained that .id as the only domain name categorized as a PNBP object shows responsibility in contributing to state finances used for community development.

Every year, PANDI also reports activities with coklit (matching and research) to Kominfo as the party that provides the mandate through the regulations it makes.

Thus, all information provided by PANDI is detailed and transparent. Therefore, related to information circulating without direct confirmation from PANDI cannot be accounted for.

The written statement stated that PANDI’s management and governance are also transparent, involving members from stakeholders, both from government elements, internet industry operators and academics.

The association’s members also include representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Information, BSSN, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, APJII, ITB, UI, Telkom University, digital forensics, Kadin, FTII, registrars, and others.
