The Panguni Order Festival dedicated to the Tamil God Murugapperuman was celebrated with much fanfare yesterday. Crowds of devotees also thronged the sacrificial houses of Lord Murugan. Sami darshan of taking kavadi and coming on foot pilgrimage.
The wedding took place on the heels of the Panguni Uttara ceremony held at the Palani Murugan Temple, the 3rd Battalion of Lord Murugan. The culmination of the Panguni Order Festival took place yesterday in Therottam. Muthukumaraswamy awoke at Thirutheri with Valli-Deivana.

Then tens of thousands of devotees pulled the toad, chanting “Arogara for Vetrivel Murugan” and “Arogara for Veeravel Murugan”. Devotees gathered on the northern, eastern, southern and western ridges and came in chariots. Then Muthukumaraswamy got up in the chariot and the devotees saw Valli-Deivana with devotion.

A large number of devotees had gathered in Thiruchendur on the occasion of the Panguni Uttara festival at the Subramania Swami Temple in Thiruchendur, the 2nd Battalion house in the sacrificial houses of Lord Murugan. They took a holy bath in the sea, stood in a long line and watched the Sami.
Pilgrims on foot paid homage to the unit by stabbing the unit, bringing milk jugs and caviar. The wedding of Kumaravidanga Peruman and Valli Ambal took place at the temple last night.
Arrangements for the ceremony were made by Temple Thakkar Ira Kannan Adithan, Associate Commissioner (Responsible) Kumarathurai and temple staff.
