In Sri Lanka, 3 elephants were killed in a collision with a passenger train passing through Colombo-Battlecup. There was commotion as two coaches of the train derailed.
A passenger train was arriving on the Sri Lankan Colombo – Batticaloa railway track at around 2 am on Friday. Then the train hit the elephants that came across the track. In this, 3 elephants died on the spot. Also, two coaches of the passenger train derailed.

Fortunately, none of the passengers were hurt. This has affected the train service between Colombo and Batticaloa. Railway workers are engaged in repairing the track.
