After almost 20 years, US singer Brendon Urie is resolving the music project Panic! At the disco on. The upcoming European concerts with the current album “Viva las Vengeance” should be the last appearances, as the 35-year-old announced on Instagram.

The reason for the decision was the pregnancy of his wife Sarah, wrote Urie. Sometimes a journey has to end before a new one can begin.

“The prospect of becoming a father and seeing my wife become a mother makes me humbled and excited. I look forward to this next adventure,” stated Urie. “So I’m going to close this chapter of my life and focus on my family and with that, Panic! At the Disco will be gone.”

Urie thanked the fans for the “immense support” over the years. “Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just joined us, it has been a pleasure not only to share the stage with so many talented people, but also to spend our time with you.” Panic! At the Disco started in 2004 as a four-piece band, with Urie as the singer and frontman. After several line-up changes, Urie remained the sole permanent member as of 2015, leading Panic! At the Disco continues as a solo project.

Among the last announced concerts are three shows in Germany. Panic! At the Disco can be seen on February 21 in Munich, February 23 in Hamburg and February 24 in Cologne. (dpa)
