Emerald: A tragic incident took place in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening. Two MBBS students who had gone to visit a friend died after drowning in a reservoir. The police station in-charge gave this information about the incident. The officer said that this incident took place at Dhawari Dam near Ajaygarh town, about 40 kilometers from the district headquarters. Krishna Gupta (20 years), a resident of Ajaygarh and Arvind Prajapati (19 years), a resident of Umaria, died by drowning. Both the deceased students were studying MBBS at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College located in Indore.
Giving information about the incident, Ajaygarh police station in-charge Ravi Jadoun said that his classmate Abhishek Bairwa (19 years) has been rescued. The rescued student was a resident of Pipalkheda in Rajasthan. Jadoun said that Bairwa and Prajapati had come to meet Krishna Gupta at his home in Ajaygarh. From here, the three had gone to Dhawari dam for a walk.
Accident investigation continues
The police officer said that the bodies were taken out of the dam and sent to the government hospital in Ajaygarh for postmortem. Ravi Jadoun said that further investigation is underway to find out how the students died.
