Police advised to get proper legal permission

Chennai: O. Panneerselvam has been denied permission to visit the AIADMK head office.

OPS supporters have been shocked by the police’s advice to seek proper legal permission.

Earlier, Jayakumar, a supporter of Palaniswami and a former minister, had filed a petition in the police chief’s office to prevent Panneerselvam and his party from entering the AIADMK office.

In this case, Panneerselvam’s supporter JCD Prabhakar has also given a petition to the police.

In that, when the OPS came to the party office on July 11, due to lack of security, there was an attack by the raiders and thugs, and taking this into consideration, he insisted that the OPS head office should be provided adequate security.

However, the police said that they could not give permission to the OPS side.

“The key of the AIADMK office, which was ‘sealed’ after the clash incident, has been handed over to the Palaniswami party as per the court order.

“If the OPS party goes in this environment, there is a possibility of untoward incidents happening in the party office and law and order may be affected,” the police said.

However, the police said that permission will be granted if proper legal permission is obtained.

Meanwhile, in the complaint filed by Jayakumar, he has mentioned that a case has been registered against some people including OPS in connection with the clash that had already taken place at the AIADMK head office and that they have received information that they are planning to attack the AIADMK head office again.

So he requested the police to stop them.

A hundred policemen have been engaged in security and surveillance there since yesterday morning.

It looks like the protection will continue for the next few days.

Meanwhile, AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami went to Tirupati with his family and had Sami Darshan.

He stayed in Tirupati last night and returned to Chennai after visiting the temple yesterday morning.
