Nothing has yet been confirmed in the Citizen Revolution (RC) regarding who will be the candidate for the 2025 presidential elections.
However, during the process of election of the new provincial board of Pichincha, of the RC, On July 6, 2024, the perfect Paola Pabón gave a speech aimed at the National Government.
“I am here to invite you to dream and achieve together the Pichincha that we long for, and from here to have a dignified homeland. We have come together to organize ourselves in unity and with love to achieve an Ecuador where we can live in peace and with dignity,” said Pabón.
Paola Pabón proposes a female revolution
In his speech, Pabón – who is serving his second and final term as prefect of Pichincha – said that there must be a women’s revolution since “patriarchy is the same as capitalism.”
He also highlighted the union with the mayor of Quito, Pabel Muñoz, who he said “has put on the shirt” to work for security.
Since Muñoz is also part of the Correa movement, Pabón added: “Imagine the power we would have if we were the National Government. That is why unity is key because that Government will be our Government,” added Pabón.
Correísmo and other profiles of presidential candidates
Pierina Correa, Assemblyman and national leader of the RC, spoke with LA HORA and when asked about the profiles for the presidential binomial, Correa highlighted that within the Movement several names are being reviewed, among which stand out Luisa Gonzalez, Gustavo Jalkh y Augusto Verduga.
“They all have a very good profile, but some names are missing, it is Paola Pavon, Diego Borja There are also names that can be mentioned at this time. Even the Viviana Velozcurrent vice president of the National Assembly,” said the assemblywoman.
For the assemblywoman within the RC, “there are very good profiles and we do not want to generate any expectations at that time, beyond the analysis of the profiles, when the time comes the different profiles will be considered.”
He warned that the possibility of alliances that exist with other movements cannot be closed “openness must be maintained, not only for the binomialbut for all lists, to eventually accommodate proposals for names of those who could form the alliance.”
