jpnn.comKEEROM – The Special Crime Directorate of the Papua Police has examined 30 witnesses in the alleged social assistance (Bansos) corruption case in Keerom Regency, Papua.

This was stated by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Papua Police, Kombes Ade Safri in Jayapura, Monday (15/4) afternoon.

Ade said that these 30 witnesses had been questioned in the investigation process leading to the determination of Regional Secretary Trisiswanda Indra as a suspect.

“We will investigate the suspects later, but what is clear is that so far we have examined 30 people who have been identified as suspects,” he explained.

He also mentioned that there was another person who should have been a suspect, but the person concerned had died.

“The former Regent of Keerom, Muhamad Markum, should have been involved. Because he is deceased, that status is not enforced,” he explained.

Kombes Ade said that the Keerom Regional Secretary had been detained for the next 20 days.

“After being named a suspect, we immediately detained the Regional Secretary,” he said.

Kombes Ade said that the Keerom Regional Secretary was named a suspect because he was involved in an alleged social assistance corruption case worth IDR 18.2 billion.

“Based on the results of the BPKP audit, the loss reached IDR 18 billion with a budget value of IDR 24 billion,” he said. (mcr30/jpnn)
