Parabat Express, an intercity train plying on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route, which was hit by miscreants during the anti-discrimination movement, is finally running.

He said that the temporarily closed Parabat Express (709/710) train will run on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route from August 28. Passengers can purchase train tickets through counter and online.

Earlier on August 11, Bangladesh Railways said that during the nationwide student movement, miscreants set fire to the coach of the intercity train and broke the coach doors and windows. 141 windows and 27 door glass of 16 coaches of Parabat Express (709/710) train were broken in the miscreants’ attack. Damaged coaches have to be sent to base stations and hill sheds for repair, which is time-consuming.

They also informed that it will not be possible to operate the Parabat Express train once the train service is started. In this situation, the Parabat Express train will be temporarily suspended until the repair work is completed.

Parabat Express leaves Dhaka Railway Station at 6:20 AM and reaches Sylhet Station at 1 PM. The train leaves Sylhet at 3:45 PM and reaches Dhaka at 10:45 PM.
