The 2030 Winter Paralympic Games will host competitions in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, para-hockey, snowboarding and wheelchair curling.
Parabobsleigh is not currently in the program of the Paralympic Games, but the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) recommended this sport for inclusion in the programs of the 2022 Beijing Games and the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games, both of which were rejected the last time. The inclusion of sports in the program is decided by the IPC.
IBSF President Ivo Ferriani expressed regret that the sport was once again left out of representation at the Paralympic Games. According to him, IBSF can provide all requirements regarding transparency and gender parity.
The IBSF reminds that in parabobsley, men and women compete together using one equipment – the monobob. At the start, the sled is launched mechanically by adjusting the force adjusted individually to the total weight of the sled and the athlete, thus no specific classification or recalculation of the finish is necessary.
