SAN DIEGO, August 10, 2025 – A fierce structure fire engulfed a residence Sunday afternoon, completely destroying the home in the 1300 block of Vinca Way. San Diego Fire Fighters responded to the blaze around 3 p.m.
Firefighters Battle Devastating House Fire in San Diego
A house fire Sunday afternoon in San Diego resulted in total destruction of the residence.
Upon arrival, fire crews immediately began search and extinguishment efforts. Deputy Fire Chief Brent Brainard confirmed that no individuals were found inside the burning home. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported at this time.
The valiant efforts of the San diego Fire Department were triumphant in preventing the flames from spreading to any adjacent properties. Though, the structure itself suffered complete destruction.
The fire, the cause of which remains under inquiry, quickly escalated, requiring a significant response from the department. Firefighters focused on containing the blaze and ensuring neighboring homes were protected from the rapidly spreading flames. The structure was deemed a total loss after approximately two hours of firefighting operations.
It remains unclear how many residents have been displaced by the devastating fire.The red Cross has been notified and is working to provide assistance to anyone affected. Officials are currently working to determine the number of occupants and their current whereabouts.
A significant response was mounted, with a total of 61 personnel dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze. The response included engines, trucks, and paramedics from multiple stations across the city.
