According to the father, when they arrived at the scene, the boy underwent an x-ray examination. Afterwards, the couple looked for the doctor, but could not find it, because they were all attending hospitalized patients. The person responsible for the boy decided to leave the X-ray in a room with the nurses, but the document disappeared.
“As I was leaving the room where I was talking to the doctors, a military policeman appeared. He showed up in a green shirt and started hitting me with my son on his lap. In that, my wife took my son from my arms and he hit me a lot”, said Francisco this Friday (21) to CNN Brasil.
“I was sitting there waiting to be seen, then he intertwined the handcuffs, put my hand behind me and squeezed it really hard, putting pressure on my wrist. To this day, I feel pain. My hand was quite swollen, when I left the police station, I went straight to the hospital. My son didn’t have to have that surgery the next day when he had the exam. The other doctor on duty saw that he didn’t need it. His leg was lined up, and now, he’s in a cast,” he added.
He also revealed that the police did not let him file a police report on the day the test disappeared, because he had been alleged that the investigation was ongoing. Francisco said that the case only went forward because he received help from his employer’s lawyer.
The 16th DP of Barra da Tijuca stated that the couple was heard and taken to do the corpus delicti at the Instituto Médico Legal. The accused military police officer is being investigated by the Military Justice.
The Municipal Health Secretariat, responsible for the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital, reported that “the unit has no management over the military police, who does not work in the unit and was passing through, accompanying a patient in custody, when he became involved in the situation”.
The agency also declared that “questions about the conduct of the agent should be forwarded to the command of the Military Police” and that the hospital’s management “repudiates any act of violence and is available to the police authority to assist in whatever is requested in the investigation of the facts. ”.
Finally, the unit denied that “the x-ray was lost” and said that the “patient had an indication for hospitalization for orthopedic surgery, a diagnosis not accepted by the parents, who initiated a discussion with the professionals”.
