New Delhi – Amid much excitement and anticipation, Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha are all set to exchange wedding vows today in the picturesque city of Udaipur. As the couple prepares for their grand celebration, here’s a glimpse into their special day.
The festivities, scheduled for Sunday, will commence with Parineeti Chopra’s Choora ceremony, a traditional bridal ritual, set to take place at 10:00 AM. This will be followed by the Sehrabandhi, a ceremony for the groom, Raghav Chadha, at around 01:00 PM. The wedding procession, known as the Baraat, will then embark on a unique boat journey from the iconic Lake Palace to the wedding venue. The Jaimala, or the exchange of garlands, is slated for 3:00 PM, followed by the Pheras (wedding vows) and other rituals, which will conclude by 6:30 PM. The grand reception is scheduled for 8:30 PM.
On Saturday, the couple’s Haldi ceremony, a pre-wedding ritual involving the application of turmeric paste, was held in the morning. Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha joyfully participated in the ceremony together. Family and friends entertained the gathering with a lively performance of Gidda, a traditional Punjabi folk dance. Additionally, a warm welcome lunch was organized for the guests, featuring a delectable menu comprising Asian and Indian cuisines. In the evening, a 90’s-themed Sangeet (musical night) added more flair to the pre-wedding festivities.
Amid the wedding extravaganza, prominent personalities from various fields are expected to grace the occasion. Renowned designer Manish Malhotra, the official wedding couturier for Parineeti Chopra, is set to arrive with filmmaker Karan Johar. However, sources suggest that superstar Akshay Kumar will be unable to attend as he is currently out of the country. The presence of Parineeti Chopra’s cousin and global icon, Priyanka Chopra, remains uncertain.
Notably, on Saturday evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann arrived in Udaipur to join in the celebrations.
The pre-wedding festivities of Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha commenced earlier this week in New Delhi. The couple held an Anand Karaj ceremony (Sikh wedding ceremony) at Raghav Chadha’s residence, followed by a soulful Sufi night. The events were attended by luminaries such as Madhu Chopra, mother of Priyanka Chopra, and Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
The wedding bells started ringing for Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha when they officially got engaged in May this year at Delhi’s Kapurthala House, among close family members and friends.
