The city of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, future headquarters of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) at the Paris 2024 Games, hosted a lively debate with former Brazilian and French athletes who lead projects to democratize sport, attentive to equality of genders and violence. Former Pernambuco swimmer Joanna Maranhão, who competed in four Olympics and was a finalist in Athens (2004), insisted on the need for the sporting world to become a safe environment free from human rights violations.
