The Olympic flame continues its journey in the south of France. After her arrival in Marseille on May 8, a journey in the South-East and a stop in Corsica, she will return to the continent on Wednesday May 15 to travel through the Pyrénées-Orientales department. Here are the places where you can see the torch, symbol among the symbols of the Olympic Games.
In the department, the flame will be carried by 84 people. His day will begin at 7 a.m. at the Canigou peak, the highest eastern peak in the Pyrenees before heading towards Prades. In the old fortified city, its route will depart north at 9:30 a.m., before following Avenue du Docteur Laval, Avenue du Général Roques and Avenue du Docteur Arrous. She will end her time in the town at the town hall after passing the Conflent music school.

Then head to Font-Romeu where, at 10:30 a.m., it will leave from the National Altitude Training Center. In the middle of the Catalan Pyrenees natural park, the collective relay will be led by representatives of modern pentathlon. It will be 3 p.m. when the flame will appear in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho, for a short half-hour route on the north side of the lake, an obligatory passage for migratory birds, with a departure on the beach and arrival at the leisure center.
After having tasted the water’s edge, the flame will find a much greater extent when it arrives in Port-Vendres at 3:35 p.m., on the edge of the Mediterranean. A passage through the marina before passing in front of the dome and it will join the neighboring town of Collioure. Place du 8 mai 1945, Notre-Dame-des-Anges church and arrival at the port at 4:40 p.m. are on the program.

The flame will be visible on Boulevard Jean Bourrat, will pass in front of the Castillet, the Théâtre de l’Archipel and the Place de Catalogne before ending its journey at the palace of the kings of Majorca.
It is in this 13th century castle that the cauldron celebration will take place. The site will be open to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with several sporting and musical events. The arrival of the last torchbearer is expected at 7:20 p.m. for the lighting of the cauldron. A giant screen, a host and a DJ will also be present to create an atmosphere for the people of Perpignan!
