Already a silver medalist at the Worlds two weeks earlier, Boris Neveu confirmed his current excellent form by winning the last kayak cross of the World Cup season, in the Vaires-sur-Marnes basin. This is the Olympic site for the event.

World champion in K1 slalom (kayak) in 2014 then 2021, Neveu finished 7th in the last Olympic Games in Tokyo. He is in the running to be selected for the Paris Olympics. The French Canoe-Kayak Federation (FFCK) must announce its list on Thursday for the Olympic Games. Neveu is up against the little prodigy Titouan Castryck, 19, who won the World Cup slalom the day before in the same Vaires-sur-Marne basin.

A very delicate decision since a nation cannot have more than one quota in slalom. One of those selected in C1 (canoe) or K1 (kayak) will be entered in kayak cross, where a second qualifying place can be won by three countries during an event in June.
