We know some of the teams who will join France during these Paris Olympic Games in 2024. Poland, Japan, the United States, Canada, Germany and Brazil have won their entry tickets for the Olympic men’s volleyball competition. France, reigning Olympic champion at the Tokyo 2021 Games, is automatically qualified not thanks to its performance but by its status as host country.
In total, 12 teams will compete during these Paris Games. One place is automatically allocated to the host country and 11 places remain up for grabs. Of the 11, six are awarded thanks to the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT) which took place in Brazil, China and Japan. The two best teams from each group are then qualified for the Olympics. During the TQO, Brazil and Germany finished first in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the United States and Japan in Tokyo (Japan) and Canada and Poland, recently crowned European champions, in Xi ‘an (China).
The last five places to be distributed will be determined by the world rankings on June 24, 2024. One ticket will be reserved for the best African team (the only continent not yet represented), and the last four places will be awarded to the best teams. placed in the world rankings among the non-qualified, at the end of the preliminary phase of the League of Nations (May 21-June 23).
The Paris 2024 volleyball events will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
