The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics promises to be a dazzling spectacle, according to Tony Estanguet, head of the organizing committee. The evening will celebrate the athletes, sports, and the Games in a memorable fashion.
The ceremony began with a performance by singer Zaho de Sagazan, who sang “Sous le ciel de Paris” from the Tuileries garden.
A Ceremony Dedicated to the Athletes
The ceremony will also pay special tribute to the athletes, with the champions taking center stage in the first part of the evening. Stade France is expecting 8,200 athletes and supporters from 205 delegations.
The Show Begins
Two hundred and seventy artists will take the stage for a diverse performance. Fans of action movies can enjoy Tom Cruise’s thrilling stunts, while music lovers will be treated to a variety of genres, including Snoop Dogg, Air, and Phoenix.
A “Dance” Show
Thomas Jolly has promised a unique and captivating performance titled “Records,” telling the story of a traveler who revives the Olympic Games on a forgotten planet. Dancer Arthur Cadre will bring the story to life through his body movements.
Ceremony Two: A Hollywood Production
As tradition dictates, the closing ceremony also marks the transition to the next Olympic host, Los Angeles, for the 2028 Games. A special 15-minute Hollywood-style show is planned to celebrate the handover of the Olympic flag between the two mayors.
