The prefect justifies his decision by the fact that the Olympic Games “are part of a series of free festivities organised by the city of Paris, outside the competition venues”, as well as by the “exceptional nature of the opening and closing ceremonies”.

Places selling and consuming beverages may open freely on the nights of July 26-27, August 11-12, August 28-29, and September 8-9.

The text published on Wednesday states that the managers of the establishments “continue to be, even in this exceptional framework, guarantors of the preservation of public order within their establishment.”
