Paris fair for youth employment: jobs, work-study contracts, but also temporary work!

by time news

Key account salesperson, security guard, communication officer, accountant… There will be many offers and students this Friday, February 10 during the Paris Youth Employment Fair held at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris. Each year, the fair fills up and can even allow you to meet your future employer online for an internship, a job or a work-study contract.

Faced with major recruitment needs, this year the Randstad recruitment agency is taking part in this fair for the first time, and plans to recruit more than 300 people there, in sectors in high demand and very varied. We spoke with Delphine Lehalle, manager of a Randstad agency in Paris, who explained to us what advantages students or young graduates could expect from temporary work.

1/Interim allows you to test jobs or sectors for short periods

“The young graduates arriving in the agency tell us that they want to live experiences, work in good conditions, learn… It’s not only the CDI that interests them anymore” explains Delphine Lehalle.

And interim responds to this need for flexibility but also for “test and learn” with a few short assignments with different recruiters, you will be able to see in real conditions if you like a sector or a job without committing yourself too long term… And sometimes conclusive tests can turn into CDI.

2/Temporary work gives you access to all types of jobs and contracts

Temporary work is not limited to extra and very temporary positions… This type of contract allows companies to replace employees in the short or medium term, but also to recruit in other ways for highly sought-after professions. This year the job market is very tight, all sectors are looking for candidates and in particular in these sectors: catering, banking/insurance, construction, industry, transport and logistics, pharmacy and chemistry…

During the show, out of the 300 contracts offered by Randstad: 250 will be temporary and the rest on CDD and CDI.

3/Temporary work allows you to be even better paid

In addition to having the same salary and the same fair treatment as any other employee of a company, you will have 10% severance pay at the end of the contract and 10% paid leave once the mission is over… Your net salary will be therefore equal to gross! A real plus for the wallet while also benefiting from the advantages of the company: works council etc.

4/The agency coaches you for your CV, interview and curriculum

In the agency or at the show, you can benefit from CV coaching (15 Randstad recruiters at the show), to improve your CV writing or to train you for a job interview. The goal of the agency is to place you in the best conditions to find and “sell” your best talents to the companies in which you could be placed. Delphine Lehalle told us that she helped several young people find their way through various experiences in acting, diploma training, one of her best missions.
