Businesswoman and star Paris Hilton reveals in her new book Paris: The Memoir, which will be released next week, that she was forced to film the famous 2000 sex tape with her ex, Rick Salomon, when she was 19 years old.

In an excerpt from the book published by the “Sunday Times”, the 42-year-old reality star who became a media mogul, does not call her then-partner Salomon by his name, but by the nickname “scum”.

“I don’t remember that much about the night he wanted to make a videotape while we were making love,” Hilton writes, according to the Sunday Times, revealing that she drank alcohol and took the sedative Quavalods before making the tape. “He told me many times that it was something he did with other women, but I felt strange and uncomfortable with it. I always told him, ‘I can’t, it’s too embarrassing.'”

According to Hilton, the partner exerted psychological pressure on her. “He told me that if I didn’t do it he would easily find someone who would, and it was the worst thing I could think of – that a grown man would dump me because I’m a stupid girl who doesn’t know how to play the games of the grown-ups. The truth is, I wanted to be sensual. I wanted To feel like a woman who is comfortable in her own skin.”

Hilton says she was pressured to take the tape and was assured that “no one else would ever see it.” But the tape would come back to haunt Hilton a few years later, when a 37-second clip of the video began circulating online.

Hilton pleaded that Salomon not release the full version of the tape. He told her that “he had every right to sell something that belonged to him – something that has great monetary value.”

“I felt like my life was over, and in many ways it was. Certainly, the career I envisioned was no longer possible,” Hilton writes. “Everything I wanted my brand to be, the trust and respect I was trying to rebuild with my parents, the fraction of self-worth I was able to restore – all of that was immediately destroyed.”
