Paris: Indigo deploys 350 electric charging stations in its Magenta – Gare de l’Est car park

by time news

Under the square Alban-Satragne (Paris, Xe), at the corner of boulevard Magenta and rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, the Indigo group now offers a “revolutionary” car park, equipped with nearly 354 electric charging stations. This is a little less than the competitor Saemes, and its 505 terminals installed at the Madeleine… But it is a sign that the parking giant also intends to enter the race for electricity.

The Magenta-Gare de l’Est car park, with a capacity of 688 places, is a showcase. “We have invested 2.7 million euros to renovate and modernize this site, and in particular to install sprinklers (fire showers, editor’s note)”, explains Marc Wencel, regional director of Indigo Paris. The 350 charging stations are spread over several levels, with charging capacities of 7.4 Kw and around twenty at 22 Kw. Enough to recharge a vehicle in four hours.

“Attractive” prices

In total, by the end of the year, nearly 1,200 terminals must be installed in around twenty Parisian Indigo car parks, including an ultra-fast charging hub (150 kw) at Porte d’Italie, in partnership with Electra. Despite soaring energy costs, Indigo strives to charge competitive rates. “We offer charging formulas for resident subscribers, with a monthly supplement of 49 or 69 euros, but also tariffs for occasional charging, at 1.80 euro per hour and 30 cents per Kw. It’s very attractive,” says Olivier Challe, in charge of the Indigo group’s electrification strategy.

Indigo has developed its offer dedicated to motorized two-wheelers.

Two-wheelers are not forgotten

At the request of the City of Paris, the concession car parks are undergoing a profound change. Objective: to adapt to new mobility, such as electric vehicles, but also to provide spaces equipped for motorized two-wheelers and bicycles.

In Magenta, almost half of the 86 spaces for motorcycles and scooters are occupied. Since the entry into force of paid parking for two-wheelers in September 2022, “our number of subscribers has tripled. We have gone from 1,000 to 3,000 subscribers, most of whom with the 2WD pass, offered by the City of Paris,” notes Marc Wencel.

On the bicycle side, the Indigo group has also changed gears. Secure spaces offer cyclists lockers to deposit their belongings as well as drawers to recharge their batteries. About twenty Cycloparks are planned, after that of Sèvres-Babylone (Paris, VIIe), inaugurated last year.
