Three years separate the first from the second edition of the Grand Prix for the best Parisian pastry. The culinary event launched in 2019 was therefore back this Thursday with twelve participants and a very specific theme: Parisian gardens. The prize was awarded to pastry chef Jordan Talbot for his piece “Autumn wake”.

“The pastries offered had to be inspired by this bucolic universe and had to be designed with at least one ingredient grown in Paris”, indicates the municipality. It was finally that of Jordan Talbot, who works in the Maison Lucas Carton, located at 9, place de la Madeleine, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, who won the victory.

Pierre Hermé in the jury

Beforehand, 12 pastries had been pre-selected and dropped off this very Friday morning at the headquarters of the Greater Paris bakers’ union. “The one proposed by the winner was able to stand out and convince a jury co-chaired by Olivia Polski, deputy mayor (PS) of Paris in charge of trade and crafts, and Pierre Hermé, pastry chef”, specifies the City . The jury was also made up of professionals from the sector, representatives of professional federations and Parisians drawn by lot.

Winner of the 2023 edition, Jordan Talbot succeeds Quentin Lechat, winner in 2019. He will receive a check for 4,000 euros. On the podium, the works “Fleur de Miel” by Hugo Spiesser-Ferrette (Christophe Michalak pastry) and “L’Idylle” by Louise Riot (Molitor hotel-restaurant) come in second and third respectively.
