The Paris La Défense establishment plans to build two wooden buildings in Courbevoie. Measuring 45 and 39 meters high, these new towers should house some 220 “co-living” homes.

The idea is to transform the largest business district in Europe by opening it to the outside world, no longer confining it to offices alone. It is to meet this objective that the “Segoffin” site will be born in 2027.

The two buildings will house 220 “coliving” housing units, a form of shared accommodation with services, particularly popular among real estate investors. By creating more shops and services at the foot and at the top of the towers, as well as living spaces, professionals and elected officials want to attract young professionals near La Défense.

As reported by AFP, the towers will be built by a subsidiary of the developer Altarea and the GA Smart Building group, the first winners of a call for “mixed and low-carbon” urban projects aimed at rehabilitating five sites on the edge of La Défense . If the infrastructure and base of the two buildings will be made of “ultra low-carbon concrete”, according to the company, everything else will be made of wood.

Friday September 22, elected officials and local officials inaugurated the new Place de La Défense, facing the Grande Arche, after renovation work which notably consisted of installing trees and changing the floor covering.
