Starting with the ’56th National Men’s and Women’s Archery Championships’ at the Gyeongbuk Yecheon Jinho International Archery Field, the ‘2025 National Archery Team 1st Selection’ and the ‘Autumn Sports Archery Competition’ will be held in succession until the 29th.
According to the military, the comprehensive championship is the final round of domestic archery for the year.
Starting with the opening ceremony at 3:50 PM on the 23rd, approximately 350 players and officials will participate and compete in two events, recurve and compound, until the 26th.
Starting on the 27th, the ‘2025 National Archery Team 1st Selection’ will be held for two days.
In the recurve event, 102 male and 102 female athletes will participate, and 64 male and female athletes will be selected.
In the compound event, 16 men and 16 women will be selected from among the athletes registered in 2024.
On the 29th, the ‘Autumn Lifestyle Archery Competition’, a festival for archery enthusiasts, will be held with the participation of approximately 500 players and officials.
In particular, this competition will feature a battle of stars, with Olympic stars including Kim Je-deok, the gold medalist at the last Paris Olympics.
It is expected that around 3,000 people will visit Yecheon during the event, which will help revitalize the local economy.
Kim Hak-dong, the mayor of Yecheon County, said, “I hope the players will achieve good results as they have prepared hard for a year,” and “I hope they will do their best in the first round of national team selection in 2025.”
