The 2024 Paris Olympic Organizing Committee created a statue of Im Si-hyeon (21), who won three gold medals in archery. Im Si-hyeon won gold medals in the team, mixed, and individual events at the Paris Olympics.

On the 3rd, the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee posted a photo on their official Instagram account of a statue of Im Si-hyeon erected in front of the Invalides, where the archery range is located. The statue of Im Si-hyeon pulling the bowstring is an image created by the organizing committee using computer graphics.

The organizing committee wrote “Congratulations” in Korean. They then reported that Im Si-hyeon had set a world record in the ranking round and had won three gold medals. The organizing committee, which had only written “GOLD MEDAL” on the photo of the gold medalist and congratulated him, made it even more special by creating a graphic statue for Im Si-hyeon.

Earlier, Im Si-hyeon defeated the youngest member of the national team, Nam Su-hyeon (19), in the final of the women’s individual archery event held on the same day, and won her third gold medal in this competition. Im Si-hyeon, who had already won gold medals in the women’s team event and the mixed event, also won the individual event, becoming the first Korean athlete to win three crowns in this competition.

As of 11:00 AM on the 4th, the multiple gold medalist at this Olympics is French swimmer Leon Marchand (22), who won 4 gold medals. Following him, American gymnast Simone Biles (27) won 3 gold medals along with Im Si-hyeon, tying for 2nd place with the most gold medals at this competition.
