Designed by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, the Olympic cauldron is a large fire ring filled with a gigantic balloon. It flew into the sky this Friday, after being lit by Marie-José Pérec and Teddy Riner. 30 m high, the basin will rise 60 m from the ground every evening, from sunset until 2 am.
