New Delhi: Amidst the busy schedule of the Indian cricket team and Parliament proceedings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the athletes of the Olympic team. He wished them all the best. During this meeting, he spoke openly to the athletes. He also spoke to Tokyo Olympics’ Golden Boy Neeraj Chopra. During this, he complained to Neeraj and said that his churma has not arrived yet. On this, Neeraj promised that soon he will return from Paris Olympics and feed him. On this, PM Modi again quipped that he wants to eat food cooked by his mother.

Earlier, when Neeraj Chopra came to speak, PM Modi replied to Namaste in a desi style. He said – Namaste Bhaiya. On the other hand, when India had made its chest swell with pride by winning a medal in the Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra had said that he likes churma made by his mother. Meanwhile, the PM expressed confidence that the Indian players participating in the Olympics will make the country proud and live up to the expectations of 140 crore people. India is sending a team of about 120 players for the Paris Olympics and hopes that this time they will perform better than the Tokyo Olympics.

India won seven medals at the Tokyo Olympics, including Neeraj Chopra’s gold medal in javelin throw. After meeting a large contingent of players participating in the Olympics, the Prime Minister posted on ‘X’, ‘Interacted with our contingent going to Paris for the Olympics. I am confident that our players will give their best and make India proud. Their life journey and success gives hope to 140 crore Indians.’

The Indian players’ contingent was accompanied by Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse and Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha. Modi also had a virtual interaction with Neeraj Chopra, boxer Nikhat Zareen and two-time Olympic medalist badminton player PV Sindhu.
