Passengers of an RER were evacuated this Sunday at the end of the afternoon at the Gare du Nord station due to a lack of power supply, indicates the SNCF.

At around 5:30 p.m., a line B train stopped running while it was near the station platforms. “From the start of the incident, the option chosen was to evacuate the passengers”, explains the SNCF, which specifies that the passengers did not remain stuck in the wagons for long.

In addition to this stopped train, the incident caused disruptions on the whole of line B towards Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and Robinson but also on line D between Paris Gare de Lyon and Orry-la-Ville in both ways for a few hours. “Traffic has resumed normally”, indicated the SNCF shortly before 9:30 p.m.

On June 14, passengers on line 4 of the Paris metro, exhausted after being stuck for two hours, opened the doors of the carriages and evacuated the train on their own.

Last year, in July 2022, passengers on several RER lines B and D also made this decision, after hours of waiting in the tunnel between Châtelet and Gare du Nord. The incident took place while the country was facing very hot weather and several users had said they had felt unwell.
