Paris-Saclay: health, a sector of the future for Courtabœuf, the largest tertiary park in France

by time news

There was a time not so long ago when Apple and Microsoft had their French headquarters in Courtabœuf. This business park straddling Les Ulis, Villejust and Villebon-sur-Yvette, in Essonne, was then the flagship sector for high technology in France. Christian Schoettl, the (unlabeled) mayor of Janvry, remembers having met in the 1980s “Steve Jobs and his gang devouring pizzas at the Ulis shopping center”. Since then, the two American giants have left, in 2006 and 2007. But Courtabœuf remains one of the most important economic centers in Île-de-France, with 23,000 employees and 1,200 establishments.
