Jiyoung Park achieved a come-from-behind victory on the last day of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour ‘Kyochon 1991 Ladies Open’ (total prize money of 800 million won, winner’s prize of 144 million won).

In the final third round of the tournament held at Seonsan (par 72) in Golf Zone County, Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do on the 5th, Ji-young Park made 6 birdies without bogeys and hit 6 under par 66.

Park Ji-young, who recorded a final total of 13 under par 203 strokes, took second place (11 under par 205 strokes), beating Lee Je-young and amateur Kim Min-sol by two strokes to reach the top.

With this, Jiyoung Park achieved her 9th win on the KLPGA Tour. He won again a month after the Mediheal/Hankook Ilbo Championship last month. Park Ji-young is the only player to win twice this season.

After the game, Park Ji-young said, “I never imagined winning. “I am happy to quickly win my second win of the season,” he said. “I will use this win as a stepping stone to try to win the next competition as well. “We will aim for 4 wins, which is more than the 3 wins we had last year,” he said.

Park Ji-young’s shooting sensation has been hot lately. She won twice and tied for third once in three weeks.

Park Ji-young said, “I am definitely in good condition, and I have learned how to play well. I also know how not to be too shaken. So she was able to ride a good trend without any major crises during the competition.”

Lee Je-young, who was the sole leader in the second round, was unable to maintain first place that day and missed out on his first win. He debuted on the regular tour in 2020 and participated in seven competitions this season, reaching the top five three times.

Hwang Yu-min, who was the leader in the first round, aimed for the top spot a month after winning the Doosan Engineering & Construction We’ve Championship, but finished in 4th place (10 under par, 206 strokes).

Park Hyun-kyung, who was trying for her 5th win in total, and Kim Jae-hee, winner of the Singapore Women’s Open in the season opener, were tied for 5th place with 9 under par 207 strokes.

Last year’s champion of this tournament, Park Bo-gyeom, recorded 2 under par 214 strokes and tied for 29th place.
