According to JYP Entertainment (035900) (hereinafter referred to as JYP) on the 11th, Park Jin-young readily donated 1 billion won again this year for children adn adolescents from underprivileged classes who are struggling with expensive surgery and treatment costs.
the fund,which was raised thru Park Jin-young’s personal funds,was delivered to five major hospitals in Korea (Yonsei Medical Center,Gangneung Asan Hospital,chilgok Kyungpook National university Hospital,Busan Paik Hospital,and Jeju National University Hospital),with 200 million won each delivered to treat rare and incurable diseases in children and adolescents.It will be used for treatment and rehabilitation.
To commemorate this, a donation ceremony was held on the 10th at JYP’s headquarters located in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul to support treatment costs for the underprivileged in Korea. In attendance were key officials including donor Park Jin-young, Yonsei University Health System Gangnam Severance Hospital Director Gu Seong-wook, Gangneung asan Hospital Management support Director yoon Cheon-sik, chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital Pediatric Surgery Professor Park Jin-young, Busan Paik Hospital Director Lee Yeon-jae, and Jeju National University Hospital Public Relations and External Cooperation Director Choi Seong-wook.
Park Jin-young said, “I have two daughters, ages 5 and 4. I have been interested in children for a long time, but I have two daughters at home and sometimes when I get sick and go to the hospital, I feel really depressed.” He added, “It was also challenging financially. “I thought about how the child’s parents would feel, and this led me to donate the treatment fee. I ask that you continue to provide good treatment to children in need, and I will continue to work hard so that I can donate more,” he said.
Jinyoung Park conveys good influence through sincere donation activities every year. In 2022, a total of KRW 1 billion, KRW 500 million each, was donated to Samsung Seoul Hospital and World Vision, an international relief and progress NGO, to help treat medical expenses such as surgery and transplantation for patients at home and abroad, as well as treatment of rare and incurable congenital diseases. In 2023, with the hope that patients will not lose their dreams just because they are sick, a total of 1 billion won, 200 million won each, was delivered to samsung Seoul Hospital, Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Chungnam National University Hospital, Chonnam National University Hospital, and Chilgok Kyungpook National University hospital.
As an inevitable result,Park Jin-young donated a total of 3 billion won to 9 hospitals and 1 NGO in Korea between 2022 and 2024 and helped 276 children in Korea,Vietnam,Indonesia,and the Philippines.
On a personal level, as JYP’s representative producer, he is also continuing his activities to give back to society the love he received from his artists, employees, and the public. Starting with the year-end charity concert held at Samsung Seoul Hospital in 2002, in 2019, we systemized our CSR (Corporate Social obligation) activities and launched the ‘EDM Treatment Cost Support Project’, which supports treatment costs for children with incurable diseases who are experiencing financial difficulties. We are developing ‘EDM Wish Fulfillment Project’, a project that encourages hope by providing emotional support, and ‘Love Earth’, an eco-pleasant project that creates a healthier place to live.
