Broadcaster Park Soo-hong confessed that he was socially murdered in the past due to the spread of false information about cyber wreckers.

On the MBC TV current affairs program ‘PD Notebook’ aired on the 27th, Park Soo-hyung appeared as a cyber wrecking victim. On this day, Park Soo-hong revealed that he had to quit the program he was hosting at the time due to the false information broadcast by the late Kim Yong-ho, a YouTuber and former entertainment reporter.

Park Soo-hong said in an interview with PD Notebook, “At that time, that person made a judgment on the show like a judge,” and “He told me to come to him right away and apologize to my family. He told me to step down from all my shows because I had committed a crime. While watching that show, I thought, ‘How can he be so confident?'”

He mentioned the conflict with his older brother and sister-in-law that led to the incident. His older brother, Jin-hong Park, was put on trial in October 2022 on charges of embezzling tens of billions of won in company money and personal funds from Soo-hong Park while managing him from 2011 to 2021. His sister-in-law, Mo Lee, was also indicted without detention on charges of participating in some of the embezzlement.

In the first trial held in January of this year, the older brother was sentenced to 2 years in prison, and the sister-in-law was found not guilty. The case is currently under appeal. As the legal dispute between the two sides arose, Kim Kim received false information from his sister-in-law Lee and made several false broadcasts related to Park Soo-hong. In August 2021, Park Soo-hong sued Kim for defamation, but the case was closed as ‘no right to prosecute’ when Kim died in October 2023.

Regarding the situation at the time, Park Soo-hong said, “Just suspecting was a crime,” but added, “When I opened the lid, all I could think was, ‘I should just die.’” He continued, “When I filed a complaint, (Mr. Kim) said on air, ‘Thank you for filing a complaint,’ but he didn’t show up for the police investigation.”

He said, “During the police and prosecution investigations, he didn’t provide evidence or witnesses even when I asked him to. When it came to trial, he only said, ‘I got a tip from my sister-in-law. I’m not guilty. ‘” He continued, “I need to hear both sides of the story to determine the facts, but he spread false information about me 31 times and never contacted me or listened to a single thing I had to say.”

He said, “I was going to the market with my wife, and I heard someone say ‘drugs, drugs’ behind me. I was so angry that I wanted to fight,” and emphasized, “The whole world was telling me to ‘die.’ If this is how society becomes, it will be so easy to kill someone without getting blood on your hands.”

Park Soo-hong said, “(Cyber wrecking) damage cannot be recovered,” and “Those who have suffered damage not only lose their social reputation, but those who have been socially murdered are used for the money they want, regardless of the truth, and issues create issues and are spread through the media.”

He also criticized them, saying, “If the suspect dies before a legal judgment is made, the vicious cycle of everything being covered up with ‘no right to prosecute’ will continue,” and “It doesn’t matter whether this is true or not, but whether the issue is profitable is more important to these people.”
