Parliament: the government’s interaction rate with written questions amounts to 71.13% (Mr. Baitas)
Rabat – The government responded to 16,297 written questions from the two Chambers of Parliament out of a total of 22,911 since the start of the legislature until October 17, i.e. a rate of 71.13%, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations indicated on Monday. with parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, in response to an oral question in the House of Representatives.
In comparison with the two previous legislatures, the minister said that the government received during the legislature (2011-2016) 17,264 questions and answered 7,031 (40.72%), while it received during the legislature ( 2016-2021) 15,751 questions and answered 8,583 (54.49%).
In the same sense, the minister underlined that the government received from the House of Representatives, since the opening of the current legislature until October 17, 17,965 written questions, and responded to 12,935, i.e. an interaction rate of 72%, noting that this is a “very high rate”. Likewise, he noted that the rate of interaction with written questions from opposition groups reached 70.26 pc, with 7,744 responses out of 11,000 questions.
Regarding oral questions, Mr. Baitas said that the government responded during this legislature to 3,903 out of 17,124 oral questions asked by parliamentarians from the chambers of representatives and councilors, noting, for comparison, that during the legislature (2011-2016), 2,611 out of 9,726 oral questions were answered, while during the legislature (2016-2021), 2,523 out of 14,013 oral questions were answered.
