Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The head of the Parliamentary Integrity Commission, Representative Ziyad Al-Janabi, said on Sunday that some political parties, which he did not name, depend for their financial funding on corruption, which he described as accumulated in the Ministry of Oil.

Al-Janabi said in a press conference he held with the members of the committee, that we do not want the parties’ funding from the ministry to continue forward, and we want to cut them off.

He added that there are indicators and points within the ministry and within the existing licenses, which are an innovation for corruption, as the licenses were sold, and those parties obtained (commissions) from them, leaving the fate of the country to the unknown.

Al-Janabi continued by saying: We have opened the issue of oil licensing corruption files, and we will not hide the names of those involved in these files from those abroad and inside.

The phenomenon of exploiting ministries for partisan interests occurs when government institutions and ministries in particular are used to achieve political goals and interests for the benefit of certain political parties, instead of achieving the interest of the people or the state in general. This kind of behavior negatively affects transparency, justice, and democracy in the system of government.

In many cases in Iraq, ministries use financial, human and logistical resources to achieve political goals specific to a party, and this leads to a focus of resources on specific interests rather than meeting the needs of the people.
