Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has extended the parole granted to Perarivalan for the 7th time.
Last May, his mother Arpudammal had demanded that Perarivalan, who is in jail in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case, be granted leave on medical grounds.
The Government of Tamil Nadu accepted the request and granted 30 days parole. Accordingly, on May 28, he was taken from Pulhal jail to his hometown in Tirupati.
In this context, Arpudammal had requested the Chief Minister to extend the parole for one more month as the doctors were saying that it would be beneficial to continue the medical treatment on June 19, as the one month parole granted to Perarivalan was about to expire.
Following this, the parole of Perarivalan was extended. He was subsequently treated for a kidney infection. Further, his parole was extended for 5 consecutive months in July, August, September, October and November.
