Partha Chatterjee has been removed from the West Bengal Cabinet after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with teacher appointment irregularities.

In West Bengal, Partha Chatterjee, who is the Minister of Industries in the ruling Trinamool Congress government, was arrested on July 23 by the enforcement department for allegedly engaging in irregularities in the appointment of teachers when he was previously the Education Minister.

Trinamool Congress general secretary Kunal Ghosh had said that Partha Chatterjee, who is currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, should be removed from office immediately.

In this case, the West Bengal Government has announced that Partha Chatterjee has been removed from the West Bengal Cabinet.

It has been announced that he will be removed from the Department of Industry, Commerce, Information Technology and Electronics, Parliamentary Affairs, Public Enterprises and Industrial Reconstruction.

“My party has taken serious action by removing Partha Chatterjee. There are many schemes behind this issue. But, I don’t want to go before that,’ said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
